Cacao beans are a delicious superfood because they contain a variety of antioxidants and other nutrients. Cacao beans produced by organic producers in Peru contain more antioxidants than red wine and three times more than green tea. Cocoa beans are a rich source of minerals.
The raw beans are picked by hand, the best quality ones are selected and fermented to reduce their initial bitterness. Cocoa butter contains a large amount of saturated fat, which comes from healthy acids - stearic acid and palmitic acid. Cocoa butter is an edible, high-quality, natural vegetable fat obtained from cocoa beans during the production of chocolate and cocoa.
On average, a cocoa bean consists of 44-46% cocoa butter, which is obtained by cold pressing after drying the beans. The result of the operation is unfiltered, virgin cocoa butter, which is chocolate brown in color and has a characteristic cocoa smell and taste. Filtered cocoa butter loses its brown color and becomes off-white or yellowish.
It can be used as an ingredient in cakes and desserts, and it can also be used to make heavenly chocolate.
Cocoa is extremely rich in various unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, proteins, manganese, potassium and phosphorus, but its valuable active ingredients can also be used in skin care.
