Shikakai is a shrub living in Asia, its pods, leaves and bark are ground to a powder, and the paste made from the powder has been used in Ayurveda for centuries, mainly for washing and grooming hair. Shikakai contains saponin, which foams gently in contact with water, preserving the natural pH of the scalp.

An example of use: Mix 1-2 tablespoons of powder with a small amount of hot water to obtain a thick paste. Spread this thick wrap on the hair. After 10-20 minutes, rinse with warm water. It is not necessary to wash your hair with shampoo. For light or bleached hair, it is recommended to test a small area to see if it causes unwanted discoloration. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
