Ingredients (for 2 servings)

  • 500 ml plant-based milk
  • 2 heaped tablespoons organic cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • Maple syrup or honey to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of vanilla extract
  • A half pinch of salt (brings out the sweet flavors)

Preparation suggestion

Heat the plant-based milk over medium heat, then mix the cocoa powder with the spices until smooth. Add the mixture to the saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring constantly, taking care not to burn. Sweeten with maple syrup or honey in the last few minutes. When serving, you can garnish with cinnamon sticks or grated nutmeg, giving it a real Christmas experience.
