Immune-strengthening dental care dog snack with maitake mushroom
Ingredients (for about 20–25 medium-sized treats)
- 1 cup tapioca starch
- 1 tablespoon maitake mushroom powder
- ½ cup pumpkin puree or sweet potato puree
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1–2 tablespoons water (if necessary for consistency)
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 170 °C and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Mix the dry ingredients (tapioca starch, maitake mushroom powder) together, then add the puree, egg and coconut oil. If the dough is too dry, you can improve its consistency with a few tablespoons of water. The dough can be shaped by rolling it out to a thickness of approx. 0.5 cm, then cut it into any shape you like.
The reward snacks should be prepared in 20–25 minutes, baking until golden brown. After cooling, they will stay fresh for 5-7 days when stored in an airtight container. For smaller dogs, the amount of ingredients can be halved or tripled.
Tip: This natural, functional dog biscuit not only helps clean teeth, but also supports the immune system. It is recommended as a daily supplement, but should not exceed 5-10% of the daily calorie intake.
